Project Update

The City of Lafayette is using a new User Fee & Cost Recovery Model to help make sure parks, recreation, and golf programs stay affordable, fair, and financially sustainable.

This model looks at the true cost of running each program and balances that with the community benefit it provides. The goal is to recover costs where appropriate while keeping programs accessible to everyone. Read the cost recovery full document.

Project Background

This project has helped ensure that Lafayette’s parks, recreation, and golf facilities and services remain strong and sustainable for years to come. By analyzing the costs of running these programs and establishing an informed pricing model, we can plan more effectively for the future, ensuring we have the resources needed to maintain and improve the places and services our community relies on.

Lafayette's Engagement Principles

The City of Lafayette remains committed to building a connected, inclusive, and resilient community. We value open communication, accessibility for all, and the diverse perspectives that make our City stronger.

Your Voice Matters

Community members shared valuable input on needs, priorities, and facility preferences, which directly informed the development of the fee model.

How Can I Get Involved?

Community Engagement Survey

The community survey closed on Aug. 13, 2025, and the feedback helped guide future improvements for parks, recreation, and golf facilities and services. The results also informed which programs and services matter most to the community.

Focus Groups

Virtual focus groups were held in late August 2025, bringing together small groups of residents to share direct feedback on fee barriers, priorities, and facility needs. These conversations helped shape the final fee model.

What Happens After the Study?

Community feedback was reviewed and incorporated into the final fee model. The model will now be used as a framework to guide future pricing decisions.
