The Lafayette Water Readiness Plan - Water Efficiency and Drought (Plan) is an integrated water-efficiency and drought-response plan developed in accordance with the State of Colorado's requirements. The purpose of the Plan is to reduce long-term water use by promoting water efficiency in non-drought years and to protect the health and safety during drought and water shortages by ensuring reliable water supplies and, to the extent possible, supporting community well-being, local livelihoods, and environmental stewardship.

The City is pleased to share a draft of the Plan and looks forward to receiving feedback. The Plan will be available for much of the summer for the community to review and provide input. Community input is a critical part of this effort. This page is your opportunity to learn about the plan, explore how water is used across Lafayette, and share your perspectives on priorities, programs, and strategies. Your feedback will help guide decision-making, shape future investments, and ensure our approach reflects the values of the people who live and work here.

Following the public review period, the Plan will undergo the final drafting stage to be adopted by City Council and submitted to the State for approval.
